Clarence Johnson is a long time Whitsett native who has committed his life to improving his community through volunteer service and as an official of Perry Township. He serves as Supervisor and Roadmaster and can be spotted mowing in the summer, plowing in the winter.
Along with his family, he has helped organize the annual Whitsett Community Day for fifty years and counting and has been a spearhead of the volunteer groups that built and maintain the section of the Great Allegheny Passage from Connellsville to Cedar Creek. A veteran of The Air Force, a philosopher and artist at heart and a big picture thinker, Mr. Johnson has also been a champion and friend of The Ruins Project.
